Fuella

Fuella is an independent developer of large green hydrogen projects in Norway and are planning a green hydrogen plant in Hemnes. Their aim is to produce green hydrogen and process it to ammonia. The access to the cheapest energy, which also happens to be renewable, both reduces operating costs and replaces co2 emissions in the energy supply.

Their proposed location is situated next to Nedre Røssåga hydropower plant.

The plant would have daily production capacity of 600 tonnes of ammonia.

This is the second project Fuella is planning in Norway, where the bulk of electricity is produced by hydropower. The company is also working on a green ammonia plant near Mongstad in the Bergen area in collaboration with Skipavika Business Park. This unit would produce 300 tonnes daily.

Green ammonia can be used, among other things, as a low-emission fertiliser and as a fuel for shipping. There are various other intitiatives in Norway regarding the use of green ammonia. One example is Grieg Maritime Group’s MS Green Ammonia, a large transport vessel that will run on green ammonia.

Venture North has aided the project by looking at possible locations according to their needs, giving detailed specifications and facilitating connections with the local authority.
