ACDC has already developed and launched an independent open-source public cloud service as well as its own infrastructure. The company is now in process to develop a significant data centre under the Arctic Circle. More specific, 20,000 square meters in the eastern part of Mo Industrial Park will host the data center campus. According to the founder Andrè Eidskrem, Mo Industrial Park is perfectly suitable for data centers;
– «The climate up here in the north is perfect for data centers. By cooling the plant, the costs are reduced. We also have a short distance to green power. Thus, we will utilize the surplus of renewable energy that is already here, and this will contribute to low CO2 emissions from this industry», says Eikrem.
